As you can see, we've redecorated. For now, most of the changes are cosmetic. That was long overdue. There's also a lot happening behind the scenes. The "skeleton" that g.com has been running on for a while was cutting edge about five years ago. We have a new skeleton. That means I can more easily add new, and hopefully useful features. Here are some which hopefully you'll like:
* It's now easier to add pictures to a post - you'll see a link to "Upload Attachment" when you make a new post. No more imageshack!
* We've added a "Thanks" button. It's similar to the "Like" button on Facebook, so you can now let someone know you liked their post without having to type all those pesky words. (It's near the "Quote" button above a post...)
* No more "front page". This may or may not be permanent. It's really because I haven't figured out how to tack a "front page" onto the new skeleton. But really, it was just year old pictures of the same mountains every day.
* No more photo album - no one was using it. (It's still at the "old site"... more on that later...) THIS PART IS IMPORTANT
The "Old" G.com is still there, but it's in suspended animation. This version is still in test-mode, which means that if things don't work, we can go back. But the content you see here is an exact copy of the "old G.com" as of 1/8/2013 @ 4PM. If you post new stuff here, it doesn't show up there. And I'm okay with that, because I have confidence that the new version will stick around.
I'd like you to use this site exclusively unless we find a bunch of broken stuff here. So try stuff out. Post pics. Click the Thanks button. Use smielys. Make new threads. Hang out here. I think you'll like the new format, and if it sticks, I'll add more features and try to make it more fun.
My pants don't smell like sunshine anymore.
