Maine 2013

Postby Garmachi » Fri Aug 16, 2013 10:28 am

In a few hours, Turtle81 and I will be leaving for Maine! I can't believe it's been five years since we made the last trip up there.

We'll be repeating the Grafton Loop hike, and hopefully finishing this time. Plus visiting friends and family as well.

The hike begins on Monday, 8/19, and we'll be off the grid for four or five days. So now you know where to send the helicopters!

Slightly bruised but healthy and happy. Off the trail a day early. More adventures await. One more week of vacation!

Spent the last two days touring various parts of the state. Saw some lighthouses, and kayaked on a lake for the second time in just a week. Headed up to Houlton today, and then home later this week. Have tons of pics to share, but they're not on this iPad, so there will be a barrage of photos when we get back.

The intriguingly hidden front door looks like it once was magnificent. Pillars maybe?

Family knows we have tracked the ruin of a family homestead. The add on kitchen was the first to go. It looks like the add on part of this house went first also. Nature never stops.

Have a great time on the rest of your vacation.

Very cool! Did you try to go inside, and play abandonment photographer?

There were "no trespassing" signs all over the place.
